George S. Hammond
, 84, a former McMaster Senior Fellow and a Distinguished Visiting Professor Emeritus at BGSU, died Oct. 5 in Portland, Ore.
Hammond, who created the field of organic photochemistry, was a member of the advisory board of the Center for Photochemical
Sciences at BGSU from 1989 to the time of his death and had been awarded an honorary degree by the University in 1990.
