Dr. Matt Donahue’s art cars are “popular culture” in both senses of the term. The highly painted, unique creations continue to garner attention and awards, proving their popularity with the public and the art world. The popular culture faculty member exhibited two of his cars in the Maker Faire July 31 and Aug. 1 at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich., and came home with the editor’s choice award for his “Red, White and Blue Jackson Pollocktik” car.

“There were numerous organizations at the event including Kettering University, Ford Motor Company, the U.S. Army and Subaru, and they chose my exhibit,” said Donahue appreciatively. The fair was sponsored by Make magazine and the Ford museum.
