The BGSU women's basketball team added another chapter to the program's history Saturday when the Falcons became the first
Mid-American Conference team ever to play in the NCAA Tournament round of 16. Arizona State was their regional-semifinal opponent
in Greensboro, N.C.
BGSU, the No. 7 seed in the Greensboro Region, reached the Sweet 16 by defeating Oklahoma State, 70-66-its first win in the
tournament since 1989 and the first by any MAC team since 1996-and then holding off second-seeded Vanderbilt, 59-56, in the
second round.
Those two victories extended the Falcons' school and conference records for wins in a season to 31, and their BGSU mark for
wins in a four-year period to 103.
