Learn how to be a better teacher, learner at fair

More than 80 faculty members and graduate assistants will share their experiences and expertise with colleagues at the second
annual Teaching and Learning Fair on Friday (March 14) in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Hosted by the Center for Teaching,
Learning and Technology (CTLT), the fair will promote student success through best teaching and learning practices, focusing
on BGSU’s Learning Outcomes.
Some of the most successful examples of assessment of student achievement will be recognized by the Student Achievement Assessment
Committee following the keynote address. Presenting the awards will be Dr. Milt Hakel, Ohio Eminent Scholar in psychology
and chair of the committee.

No registration is required to attend the keynote address, which will be given at 10:45 a.m. in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom
of the union. Dr. Diane Halpern, professor of psychology at Claremont McKenna College in California and past president of
the American Psychological Association, will speak on “Applying the Science of Learning in the Classroom and Beyond.” CTLT
Director Bonnie Fink encourages the campus community to attend.
Presentations will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. and again from 1-2:30 p.m. In addition to the presentations in the ballroom,
breakout discussions are set for 9:30-10:30 a.m., 1:30-2:30 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. in rooms 314, 315 and 316. Three topics will
be offered in these repeating sessions: BGSU Teachers on Teaching, Future Learning Settings and BGSU Learners on Learning.
