Dr. Howard Casey Cromwell
Assistant professor of psychology and director of the Affective/Motivational Neuroscience Laboratory
Expertise: Brain mechanisms of emotion and motivation; how emotional information accesses the memory systems at different levels of the brain. His research interests also include the history of mental illness, brain substrates of drug abuse, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from DePauw University; master’s degree and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan. Postdoctoral training in neurophysiology and behavior at UCLA and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). Has been published in several professional journals and has presented to the Society for Neuroscience, American Psychological Society, European Brain and Behavior Society, and the International Basal Ganglia Society.
