• BGSU is home to the country’s only National Center for Marriage Research, established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in fall 2007 with a five-year, $4.35 million grant.

• BGSU was one of five colleges and universities chosen nationally to receive the 2007 CHEA Award for Institutional Progress in Student Learning Outcomes by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

• The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recognizes BGSU for its curricular engagement with the community. The foundation, which uses national data to classify higher education institutions, created the elective classification in 2006. The curricular engagement designation is defined as “teaching, learning and scholarship that engages faculty, students and community in mutually beneficial and respectful collaboration. Their interactions address community-identified needs, deepen students' civic and academic learning, enhance community well-being and enrich the scholarship of the institution.”

• The Princeton Review says BGSU's MBA program is among the nation's best. The MBA program ranks fifth among schools providing the greatest opportunity for minority students, according to the 2008 edition of the Review's “Best 290 Business Schools.”

• BGSU’s doctoral program in industrial/organizational psychology is ranked third in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

• BGSU is among a select number of universities with “programs to look for” in the 2008 edition of America’s Best Colleges, published by U.S. News & World Report. BGSU was listed for the fifth straight year among schools with outstanding examples of academic programs commonly linked to student success. This year, the University was cited for its first-year experience programs and learning communities. In addition, BGSU’s supply chain management program climbed in the national ranking to a tie for 16^th place.

• Teacher education programs at BGSU are recognized for leadership and innovation by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. BGSU graduates are recruited by schools nationwide.

• Nationally known academic programs in supply chain management, college student personnel, photochemical sciences, popular culture, applied philosophy, policy history, musical arts, demography and sport management.

• Cooperative education program ranked among the top 10 percent nationally.

• Home of the John P. Scott Center for the Study of Neuroscience, one of the first interdisciplinary research centers of its kind in the United States, and the Center for Family and Demographic Research, which has major funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
