Molly Anderson ’04 with her cousin, Jonathan Anderson, at a palace in Rajasthan, India
When some people seek adventure, they strap on a parachute and jump out of an airplane. Or they might rent a motor home and
spend the summer exploring the American West.
Molly Anderson ’04 sees adventure through a different prism. She took a year and a half to visit 40 countries in some of the
most politically incendiary parts of the world.
Throughout her explorations, Anderson chose not to ride on a tour bus, stay in modern hotels or stick to the main roads and
byways.
She sought adventure in villages of primitive huts, heard the banter and haggling at back-road border crossings and took in
the myriad aromas of the open markets. She wanted to feel the warmth of a wood fire, the chill of mountain air at night and
the sting of wind-whipped desert sand.
