BGSU gives green light to environmental technology

With an eye on the environment, a hand in new technology and a mindset centered on innovation, BGSU has moved several environmental projects from the drawing board to real life. The research and work of BGSU professors and engineers have resulted in “green” projects ranging from harnessing the sun’s energy to power the BGSU Ice Arena to retrofitting conventional shuttle buses and delivery trucks with hybrid systems that reduce exhaust emissions and fuel requirements. BGSU students, meanwhile, have been working with energy organizations and local municipal utilities to find ways to increase area wind energy programs.
