The BGSU Alumni Association created the Alumni Laureate Scholars program last fall with an initial investment of $1 million. These six soon-to-be freshmen will receive full tuition, fees and a $1,000 book award annually. In addition, the students will participate in leadership workshops, community activities and actively work with alumni leaders.

The students were chosen based on their leadership skills, scholarship, citizenship, achievement, personal integrity and involvement in and out of the classroom. They also must have a grade point average of at least 3.5, a SAT score of at least 1100, or a score of at least 27 on the ACT to meet the qualifications for the award.
