Dance, art, theatre, music, creative writing—if those pursuits interest you as a profession or an avocation, the Arts Village will be an extraordinary learning community for you. Open to students in any major, the Arts Village involves exploring all aspects of the arts and sharing views with one another and faculty of various disciplines. The community offers on-site classes specifically geared toward art students, collaborative projects, activities and social events.

People
The ARts Village is a community of interdisciplinary artists, scholars, professors, students and other dedicated individuals.

Classes
ARts Village students can take courses in the AV community space from top-notch faculty.

Mentoring Program
To help first-year and transfer students integrate into the ARts Village and BGSU communities and to promote successful college careers and futures, incoming ARts Village students join returning students in interest groups of 10-15 members.

Programming
The ARts Village is host to extra- and co-curricular programming every night of the week. Much of the programming is student-generated or created in direct response to student interests and needs.  From weekly movie nights, workshops, special guest artist visits, programs that often encompass themes applicable to myriad art practices, incorporate multicultural dimensions and relate to what students learn in class.

Cultural Immersion Trips
ARts Village students have the opportunity to participate in experiential learning via study trips, often for course credit, that explore various cultures through an artistic lens. Recent trips include Chicago, New York, California, and the Southwest.

Requirements for student members of the ARts Village:

• Live in Compton Hall, Kreischer Quadrangle
• Actively participate in the ARts Village mentoring program
• Attend and participate in ARts Village programs and events
• Enroll in RESC 200A, a one-credit hour course required for ARts Village Students
• Enroll in at least one other ARts Village elective course
• ARts Village participation fee of $190.00 per semester
