The Partners in Context and Community (PCC) program, located in Kohl Hall, is for education majors interested in preparation
to teach in high-need and high-poverty urban schools.
PCC students learn to teach by working with teachers and students in Toledo Public schools beginning their first semester
at BGSU. These field experiences are integrated with courses designed specifically for this program. Students gain valuable
practical experience while developing close ties with other students, faculty, and staff.
PCC, originally funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, is considered to be one of the most progressive and
promising teacher preparation programs in the country.
"By being in PCC you are surrounded by people who want to be successful teachers; and their enthusiasm, passion and determination
are excellent sources of motivation.” Leah Domer, middle childhood education major Maple Heights, Ohio
