Learning Commons

Students enrolled in ESOL classes and other non-native speakers of English are encouraged to utilize the writing services provided by the Learning Commons. In fact, the Learning Commons offers ESOL writers the opportunity to work with consultants who have completed additional training, led by the Learning Commons ESOL specialist, to help the consultants better understand the needs of these writers.

The consultants who have participated in this training are:

Students enrolled in ESOL classes should make an appointment with these consultants, but every writing consultant can help with clarity, organization, formatting, and documenting outside sources. Consultants can also help writers better understand assignment guidelines. Appointments are limited to one hour per day and two hours per week, but writers are welcome to schedule multiple visits for longer assignments or more in-depth assistance throughout the writing process.
