Learning Commons

Math & Statistics

The goal of The Learning Commons Math & Statistics Tutoring is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their math and statistics classes. Tutors offer their expertise in math or statistics, which applies to a wide variety of courses. The center is an ideal environment for students to spend time outside of the classroom mastering the content of a math or statistics class. Routine usage is encouraged!

Tutoring is offered in two different ways: on a drop-in basis or as a study group. For the majority of courses that are 2000-level and below, drop-in tutoring is the traditional offering and is widely regarded as a convenient, useful option. Beginning in Spring 2013, study groups can be requested for these same courses. The courses for which we offer drop-in and group tutoring are listed below.  If you course isn't listed, feel free to stop in; we may have a tutor that can help you, or we can set you up with an appointment to meet with a tutor that can assist you.

If your course is highlighted above, then there are specific hours available for drop-in tutoring with tutors that specialize in that course. To view a larger, more detailed, version of the drop-in schedule detailing the specific tutoring hours for the highlighted courses, click here.

There is also a page that lists the tutors that can assist with specific courses as well as their software expertise. That page can be found here or by clicking "Tutoring Coverage" on the left navigation bar.

Lastly, we have a schedule, found here, that simply lists the tutors that tutor Math & Stats.  Although this does not detail out specific courses, you may find this useful if you enjoy working with a specific tutor.
