Reason #2: Why wouldn't you come?

Be honest to yourself, the only reason you would not come in to get free tutoring and free pop corn is because you do not want to come to the library. Let's face it, the only reason you wouldn't come play with the relaxation puppies is because you cannot get out of bed. Be real, the only reason you wouldn't come and enjoy the food is because you don't want to get dressed.

Don't look confused and come to the Learning Commons and enjoy the best study environment around.

Reason #3: This is College

You are now in the big leagues, and it is your responsibility to be the best you can be. You need to train hard to be the best and you need to work to get even better. Your education is not a passive thing, it requires action; however, at some point we some coaching, we need some one to help us get over the new hurdles, to help up prepare for an up coming test or quiz. That is where we come in. We can get you prepared for your finals in a way you may not have thought.

Reason #4: "We have a Hulk"

Well, of course we do not have a real Hulk, but we do have all of the resources you need to fight off your evil exams. If you need a certain book to read from, we got it. If you need a tutor to sit down with, we got it. If you need a place to meet with your group, we can accommodate. Reason #5: Don't Give Up

At some point in time we feel like we cannot get through all of the notes, through all of the exam corrections, or that we know it all and think it is time to stop studying. Don't do that. If you are at the point where you feel like you want to stop studying, think again. Recommit yourself and come to the Learning Commons on December 9th and persevere.

Reason #6: You Are Not Alone

So you feel you are the only person that does not get it, that you are on the lower end of the curve, well this is simply not the case, and chances are you know something that others do not. One of the best ways to prepare for finals is to bounce ideas and concepts off of others. Be it a question in Utilitarian Ethics or how to start a trigonometry problem, working in a collaborative environment increases your knowledge and reasoning abilities.

Remember, you are not alone, and chances are that the other people who are struggling will want a few people to talk as well. Working with a group can be encouraging and rewarding, and coming to the Learning Commons on Sunday December 9th gives you the opportunity to work with others, and maybe learn a thing or two.

Reason #7: You Need to Study

After all this is college and it is your responsibility to learn actively, so crack open the books and pull out your notes on Sunday December the 9th and come to the Learning Commons to set your self right for finals week.

Reason #8: A Place to Work

Let's face it, most people do not get much work done in their rooms. Between the TV, roommates and video games, our best intentions to get work done often goes to the way side by the distractions around us. So why not come to a calm and quiet environment. The Learning Commons is located on the first floor of Jerome Library, we have tutors, friendly staff, and all of the resources the library has to offer. You can scurry away to a dark corner to study away or you can meet with a group in our common areas. The choice is yours, why take the chance of getting nothing done at home, when you can get to working the moment your foot walks through our doors. If you want to be productive in preparing for your finals, then come to the Learning Commons on December 9th and see how fast you can get the job done.

Reason #9: You Don't Know What You Don't Know

Confidence is a great thing to have going into a test, so how confident are you? In reality, you are confident in the material you did well in, right? However, what happens when you are asked a question on the final and you go completely blank?

Avoid this tragedy by coming in and sitting down with one of our tutors. We can identify where you might be lacking, or areas you need to just brush up on. Again, you do not know what you do not know, so make the effort and come to the Learning Commons on Sunday, December 9th so that on your final you don't ask "What you talkin' about?"

Reason #10: Get Started!

One of the biggest problems that students run into in preparing for finals is knowing where to start. Think about it: you have just finished 16 weeks of course work, you have had numerous assignments, tests, quizzes, etc. Where do you start?

Even though you may not know the answer, our staff can help you find it. Come to us on December 9th with all of your course materials and books and wee can help you put "one foot in front of the other."

Make the commitment and we will see you in the Learning Commons!
