THFM 490 Humanities Troupe

Theatre is far more than a rarified art form whose sole purpose is to entertain. On the contrary, theatre can be used as a powerful source for change. This course explores a multitude of concepts, skills and strategies to aide entrepreneurs in more fully engaged and effective communication with themselves as well as others. The focus is on exploring researching, interviewing, writing, improvising, acting and facilitating techniques in order to:

1. Enhance awareness of various ways that theatre can be used for social change.
2. Enhance awareness of other people's points of view to increase social awareness.
3. Generate materials for shows for social change.
4. Put ideas into action through the creation and performing of shows for social change.
