This preeminent theatrical resource aspires to promote a culturally literate society through the experiential engagement of our communities.

What is The Humanities Troupe?

Established as a university wide initiative through President Ribeau's cabinet and with the support of the Diversity Liasion Committee and the Dept. of Theatre and Film, The Humanities Troupe is a group of graduate and undergraduate students who present performances on vital topics to various populations.

The troupe is housed in the Department of Theatre and Film.  Four graduate students form the core of the troupe, under the supervision of Michael Ellison, Ph.D. - Associate Professor, Department of Theatre and Film.

Who is The Humanities Troupe designed to reach?

Values and differences are vital to a broad spectrum of the population, yet each group has its own particular needs and concerns. Initially focusing on the concerns of students, faculty and staff, as The Humanities Troupe expands issues of community concern can also be addressed.

What is
The Humanities Troupe's mission?

We use theatrical tools to stimulate thought, provoke dialogue and promote change by examining values, differences and human experience in ways that are supportive and conducive to learning.
