Greetings!
My name is Amanda Stump and I am the Residence Hall Director for Harshman Chapman/Dunbar. I am a graduate of Wright State University with a B.S. in Psychology and I recently graduated from Bowling Green State University with a M.Ed. in School Counseling. Go Falcons! I am very excited to be working with the Honors Learning Community and I am looking forward to helping make your leaning and living experience a seamless transition from the classroom to the halls.
My primary responsibility is ensuring that your living environment is one that allows you to be successful and have a rewarding experience here at BGSU. I am a full-time, professional staff member that lives in the building and I supervise the Resident Advisor staff in the building. Together we work to provide remarkable experiences and activities within the building to help you get involved in the campus and surrounding community. Your experience here at BGSU is what you make of it. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it! Getting involved will help you find ways to enhance your college experience and to take an active, responsible role in your community here at HCD.
The Resident Advisor staff in the building works hard to provide opportunities for you to learn, grow, and have fun. Your out of the classroom education happens here in the residence halls and the HCD staff will work hard to help you to become an outstanding student leader and change agent on campus. Your involvement in the community helps to mold the direction we take with our programming and interactions, so your input and involvement can greatly impact your experience. Watch for advertisements and notices from your Resident Advisors about upcoming programs and events on your floor, throughout the building, and on campus.
A great opportunity for leadership development within the building is through your Hall Council. All students of the building are automatically members of their Hall Council's General Assembly and you can earn voting privileges through regular attendance. This is another great way to help shape your community and improve your college experience. From programming to facilities improvement, Hall Council is given the opportunity to directly improve the living environment of the building. Many Hall Council members go on to hold other lucrative leadership positions on campus including Resident Advisor roles. This is a great way to network and get involved!
The knowledge and skills you will gain by living in HCD will be invaluable. You have the opportunity to create lasting, meaningful relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Best of Luck!
