Honors Project
In order to graduate with Honors, students must complete
an Honors Project. You can help your student by encouraging
them to start thinking about their project early in
their college career. Starting their project their Sophomore
year would allow them more freedom to change or alter
their project at a later time to better fit their wants
and needs.
- Students’ projects should demonstrate critical
thinking skills and incorporate knowledge and methodologies
from two different fields.
- Projects must also demonstrate the student’s
ability to synthesize information and ideas.
- In addition, each student must submit a project
application and meet with the Honors Director.
- Students are also required to work with two faculty
members.
- Students’ projects can be presented as a paper
(typically 25 pages) or other creative expression
(art, poetry, film, manuals, etc).
- Projects must be presented to the University community
at the yearly Honors Program reception.
- In addition, monetary prizes will be awarded for
outstanding Honors Projects.
