University Honors Program

Ahoy! My name is Caitlin McCurdy Rethorst, and I am a Program Assistant for the Honors Program at BGSU. My responsibilities include serving as an academic advisor, planning various programs and events for the Honors Program and Honors Learning Community, and serving as staff advisor to the Honors Student Association.

Born in Columbia, Missouri and raised in Overland Park, Kansas, I’ve recently moved here to Bowling Green, and I’m very excited to be a new Falcon as a first-year graduate student in the College Student Personnel Master’s program. I received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Studies from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, where I was involved in service learning, student government, first-year orientation, psychology research, athletics, and various other student activities. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I worked on campus at Southwestern College in the social sciences department and the admissions office before moving to BG.

I love being a student, and I love working with students, which is why I know that I’m destined to be on a college campus! Outside of work and school, my favorite activities include spending time with my friends and family, visiting new places, reading John Grisham novels, and watching fun movies!

I am quite excited to be a part of the Honors Program, and I am ready to meet everyone, so please stop by The Honors Loft soon to say hello!
