Brian Myers, Class of ‘97

Brian Myers is in his 11th year of teaching instrumental music. After 1 year in Antwerp, OH, he came to Eastwood as Assistant Director, and has been Director of Bands since 2002. He team teaches 6th, 7th, 8th and high school bands and high school music theory. While at Eastwood, he created AP band and theory curriculums, HS Jazz Band, a student leadership program, and began taking middle school bands to OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events. He is a co-founder of the Eastwood High School Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter #5458.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Music with University Honors from BGSU in 1997 and a Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music, Chicago, IL, in 2002. He is active in the Ohio Music Education Association, having served as chair for High School Solo & Ensemble and District President. Brian is an OMEA Adjudicator and the OMEA State Tri-M Advisor.

Brian attends Faith United Methodist Church where he substitutes on piano and organ. He is a United Methodist Certified Lay Speaker and Ohio Notary Public. He enjoys traveling (especially Chicago) and canoeing. Brian resides in Pemberville with his wife Leslie.
