Sara Kaminski, Class of ‘05
After graduating from BGSU in 2005 with a degree in political science, I was hired by the Ohio Legislative Service Commission's Internship Program. As an intern, I worked in the office of State Senator Kimberly Zurz, who now serves as Director of Commerce in the Strickland Administration. Upon finishing the yearlong internship, I was offered and accepted a position at the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), an advocacy group that represents 18,000 physicians, residents, and medical students in Ohio.
I currently serve as the OSMA's Political Affairs Coordinator, which involves managing the OSMA's Political Action Committee (OSMAPAC) and cultivating the grassroots' network. This fall, I am starting part-time graduate work to earn my Master's of Public Administration at Ohio State's John Glenn School of Public Affairs.
