mayeux award for OUtstanding Honors Project
 

Patricia Gangwer Mayeux, a long-time employee at the University, has created an endowment, the income from which is used to fund prizes to be given annually to the best Honors Projects completed since last year's Honors Reception.

2008 Mayeux Award Recipients

  • Kate Bednar - Project title: “Don’t Disturb the Universe”: Silence, Suppression, Censorship, and Education
  • Sundeep Mutgi - Project title: Molecular Determinants of Host-Range Specificity in a Lambdoid Phage
  • Jennifer Powers - Project title: Teaching Strategies and Learning Styles in Early Childhood Science Education

In 2009 the prize(s) will be awarded at the Honors Project reception on April 29. To be eligible for a prize an Honors student must: 1) present their projcet at the Honors reception; 2) have submitted an Honors Project to the Honors office by noon on Monday, April 27; and 3) have earned an “A” on their project.
