The Tom Klein Leadership Award will provide scholarships for upper class Honors students who have shown striking examples of community leadership and service within and outside the Honors Program. In addition, candidates should demonstrate outstanding commitment to their community and academic excellence.
To be eligible for the Tom Klein Leadership Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be members of the University Honors Program and in good standing within the Program;
- Applicants must have at least 60 credits of coursework performed at BGSU.
Selection Criteria: Selection of the winners will be done by a selection committee comprised of the University Honors Director, Honors Faculty members, and previous winner(s) of the Tom Klein Leadership Scholarship. The Scholarship will be awarded based on examples of community leadership, service within and outside the Honors Program, GPA, Honors GPA, and quality of an essay submitted by the candidate. Although financial need is not required, it can be used as a consideration.
Deadline to apply is February 1, 2009. Applications will be mailed to Honors students or they can be picked up in the Honors Program office, 209 Harshman, after January 10.
