During their first year, freshmen students should take Introduction to Critical Thinking, English 112, and either Great Ideas or Moral Principles. Although Critical Thinking is mandatory for freshman year, IMPACT is flexible in that other required courses can be taken when most convenient for the student. Indeed, the IMPACT curriculum is limited to the preceding classes to allow students to easily complete coursework for both their majors and for IMPACT. Classes are integrated with one another to provide unusual unity to the learning and living experience.
