Working together to make a difference
The BGSU Honors Program is working collaboratively with several different organizations in an effort to provide ongoing support for the CASA/GAL Program (Court Appointed Special Advocates/Guardian ad Litem).
For the second year, members of the BGSU Honors Program coordinated efforts to provide gifts to 25 local children served by the CASA/GAL Program. In addition to providing these children with hats, gloves, mittens, toys, and books, the Office of Residence Life donated blankets to each child.
Earlier in the year, students in the Honors Student Association sponsored a benefit dinner that supported the organization and raised $650.
This January through March, Honors students will continue their efforts to support CASA/GAL by collecting school supplies which will be stuffed into backpacks provided by the Perrysburg Exchange Club. This will be the second year that Honors students have supported this program.
If members of the local community would like to help by donating supplies, money, or time, they are asked to contact Jodi Devine at 419-372-8504 or jdevine@bgsu.edu. In particular, they need calculators, tissues, paper towels, spiral notebooks, loose leaf paper, markers, and colored pencils.
