WRITING INSTRUCTOR POSITIONS
ACADEMIC YEAR 2008-2009
The General Studies Writing Program at Bowling Green State University has been approved to fill two instructorship positions
which are potentially renewable annually to two years. Potential for renewal for additional two-year terms. Each position
carries a 24–hour load (typically four courses per semester) of General Studies Writing courses. The salary is competitive
and benefits are provided. BGSU and General Studies Writing are committed to faculty diversity as a way to strengthen the

Renewable Instructorship: Two-year appointment with renewal contingent upon favorable performance evaluations. May be renewed for additional terms.
12-hour load per semester to teach composition courses in the General Studies Writing Program. Qualifications: MA or MFA
in English; successful experience teaching academic writing, including researched writing, at the college level; training
in rhetoric and composition. Experience in the teaching of developmental writing preferred.

approach, student evaluations, three current and original reference letters (official placement files are acceptable) addressing
the applicant’s teaching strengths, and official transcripts; additional evidences of effective teaching (e.g., teaching portfolio,
