Undergraduate Research and Scholarship
Awards in Support of Undergraduate Research (ASUR): Student Researchers, Spring 2011
A total of sixteen undergraduate students participated in the Awards in Support of Undergraduate Research (ASUR) program sponsored by the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship during the Spring semester, 2011. Six students received individual awards of up to $500 to offset their project expenses, and three groups were awarded up to $750 toward research expenses. Each student worked closely with a faculty mentor on an independent research project or creative scholarly activity over the course of the semester. Depending on the discipline, these student scholars conducted experiments out in the field as well as in labs, conducted applied projects in the arts, or studied best practices in their discipline. While some capstone projects or Honors projects were included among those funded by the Center, in most cases, these students worked on independent projects that were not directly associated with any course requirements.
The participating students and their projects are listed below (please scroll down!)
