Summer Grants
Undergraduate Summer Research Scholar Program (USRS)
This program provides up to $500 for students to purchase research / project supplies, coupled with a $2,500 stipend (less taxes and other withholdings) for undergraduate students who commit to a ten week (thirty-four hours per week) intensive research/scholarly project experience under supervision of a faculty mentor. In addition, faculty mentors receive $400 to support their own research or professional development (or to contribute to the project).
Students must submit a completed copy of the Application/Endorsement form (available below), which must be signed by their faculty mentor and department chair, and submitted along with a detailed project narrative / research proposal and faculty letter of support. Refer to the Guidelines, below, for instructions and a sample outline for the proposal.
For full consideration, completed applications must be submitted to the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship in 209E Harshman prior to the deadline.
Deadline to Apply
Summer 2013 Friday, March 1 (no later than 5:00pm)
(Applications are due just prior to Spring Break)
Candidates should receive notification of their status no later than March 29, 2013. All participants will be required to attend an Orientation Meeting in April (date to be announced).
