Below is a list of available workshops. Each title links to a more detailed description. Please remember that if you request one of these workshops, it will be your responsibility to reserve the lab in which we present.

Using PowerPoint to Make a Presentation  
This workshop takes students step-by-step through the process of finding a computer, opening PowerPoint, creating a presentation, saving the file, printing a copy of the presentation, and using PowerPoint to present in class. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student. Length: Approximately 50 minutes

Using Excel to Make a Spreadsheet
This workshop takes students step-by-step through opening Excel, creating and editing a spreadsheet, inserting graphs, and saving the file. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 50 minutes

Using Microsoft Word to Write a Paper
This workshop takes students step-by-step through the process of opening a word processor, writing a paper, saving the file, printing a copy of the paper, and exiting the word processor. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student. 
Length: Approximately 30 minutes

Dreamweaver Part 1: Using Dreamweaver to Make a Website         
This workshop leads students through the basic steps of creating and uploading web pages. Several topics are covered including managing sites, using tables, and inserting text and images. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 90 minutes

Dreamweaver Part 2: Using Dreamweaver to Build Onto a Website      
This workshop takes students' previously designed websites and teaches them Dreamweaver more in depth. Students will learn how to add internal, external, and e-mail links. They will also be taught the process of inserting flash buttons and Quicktime movies. Uploading web pages to the server will be covered as well so students can preview their work. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 90 minutes

Digital Video Part 1: Using the DV Camera      
This workshop introduces students to the basics of digital video cameras. It includes hands-on segments with digital video cameras, light kits, and Firewire hard drives.
Length:  Approximately 30 minutes

Digital Video Part 2: Editing with iMovie HD    
This workshop introduces students to the basics of editing digital video with iMovie HD. Students get hands-on experience using iMovie HD to edit previously taped or tutorial footage. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student. 
Length: Approximately 50 minutes

Digital Video Part 3: Using iDVD to Create a DVD     
This workshop covers creating a DVD by importing movie files, picture slideshows, and music. Students will receive an explanation of how to customize the main menu to fit the theme of choice, add special features, and how to put your finished product onto a DVD ready for viewing. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 50 minutes

Using Adobe Acrobat to Create PDF Documents            
This workshop will teach students how to create a PDF file. It will also go through how to edit text and pictures, insert shapes and lines, a Quicktime movie, and links. Students will also be shown how to add a password to their PDF file for high security. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student. 
Length: Approximately 50 minutes

Using Photoshop to Edit Images     
This workshop introduces students to the basics of editing images with Adobe Photoshop. Basic functions such as tools, layers, and filters are included in the instruction. More extensive coverage of specific functions can be requested. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 50 minutes

Introduction to Illustrator    
This workshop introduces students to the basics of using Illustrator to create vector art. Basic functions such as tools, layers, and effects are included in the instruction. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 90 minutes

Introduction to InDesign CS3    
This workshop introduces students to the basics of page layout and page design. Basic functions such as tools, layers and layout application are included in the instruction. This workshop is hands-on and requires computers for every student.
Length: Approximately 90 minutes
