Instructor: Savilla Banister
Project: EDTL 611 Video Podcast
Problem: EDTL 611 incorporates video that students must view in order to complete assignments. They were in need of a way to have the
videos more accessible to students.
Solution: Using iTunes to post the videos as Podcasts students were able to access the videos in many different formats and from anywhere
where the Web was accessible.

Project: GeoJourney Promotional website
Problem: Website needed to promote GeoJourney study abroad program.
Solution: A promotional website was created and the instructor was taught how to use Macromedia DreamWeaver software in order to update
and maintain the website long after the project was completed. This site has given students a more interactive way to learn
about this study abroad program as well as enhanced it’s popularity in the BGSU community.

Project: Long-Distance In-Class Speakers (Interviews and Archives)
Problem: Instructor wanted to be able to bring speakers into the classroom without having to expend the time and money to bring them
in physically.
Solution: Investigated various means of internet-based video-conferencing. After deciding upon iChat A/V paired with the Apple iSight
and with Snapz Pro (for recording the interviews for archival), TECS negotiated an agreement with the Technology Support Center
(TSC) regarding a system for setting up temporary releases on the specific internet ports required for iChat A/V to function.
An initial test successfully verified that, through cooperation with TSC, off-campus conferencing is possible at specific
times and places.
Instructor: Amy Robinson - Department of Romance Languages

Instructor: Dr. Elaine Culprit
Project: Student teacher video
Problem: The music education program wanted to setup a live stream video from student teacher classrooms to be recorded and saved on
a campus server.
Solution: We determined that a live streaming solution would not be possible due to lack of resources. The solution we came up with
was to supply the student teachers with iBooks and iSights which they would use to record their classroom teaching experience.
These videos would then be transferred to a dedicated server on campus via FTP.
Instructor: Ron Skulas
Project: Language Learning Center
Problem: LLC did not have a good interface in order to present audio materials for foreign language study. Interface needed to be more
accessible to students. Website needed to be updated.
Solution: An advanced online interface was created in order to allow students to access the language learning audio files from the LLC
website. The LLC audio files were organized and the website was redesigned in order to enhance the learning experience.
