"Real Life Experience for the Real World"

The TECS program utilizes a studio atmosphere in which "real life" projects are undertaken for clients. In a typical TECS project, a BGSU faculty member and one or more TECS students work together on such tasks as; Improving technology usage skills, adopting new instructional techniques or software, podcasting, enhanced podcasting, vcasting, web, video, animation, presentations, interactive instructional aids, and a variety of other endeavors. Twenty (20) faculty projects are planned for each semester at present. TECS students are assigned to 3-4 projects each semester.

TECS applicants are expected to be competent in their expertise of design, visual technology software applications, media focus, and project management. Media focus can be in print, Web, video, and animation. Eligible applicants will be interviewed and are required to provide a portfolio of their current work and be able to demonstrate their skill set. We are looking for applicants that are talented, self-motivated, able to work in a team atmosphere, and capable of relating their knowledge and skills to others.
