BG@100 HCM What Does PeopleSoft Bring to Administrative Staff |
 |
|
|
-
Leave Accrual Pro-Ration and Carryover
If you work less than 40 hours per week, or for less than a full month, your vacation and sick hours will be pro-rated based
on part-time status, a reduction in your work hours, a mid-month hire, or termination. Your end-of-year carryover will not
change, and your yearly maximum accrual rates will remain at 352 hours; however, because these amounts will be counted automatically
for everyone in PeopleSoft, you will not receive special notification of them by mail.
-
Printed Paychecks and Stubs Will Show "Hours and Earnings"
PeopleSoft includes an "Hours and Earnings" box that lists system default standard hours on all paychecks and stubs, regardless
of the applicability of that information. If you are a salaried employee, you may disregard this information, which will
have no effect on your earnings.
-
Life Insurance Volume for Staff on Less-than-Twelve-Month, Full Time Contracts
If you are a full-time administrative staff member working fewer than twelve months per contract year, BGSU bases your life
insurance amount on an annualized (or twelve-month) contract amount. In order to provide everyone with accurate coverage,
when the BGSU PeopleSoft implementation “goes live,” your life insurance volume will be counted as 2.5 times your actual contract
salary (and any stipends you may earn), and not counted on an annualized amount.
-
Benefit Deductions for Staff on 10-Month Contracts
If you work on a 10-month contract, your benefits are currently deducted evenly over those 10 months. Beginning in 2006, although
you will continue to work on a 10-month schedule, your benefit deductions will be taken evenly on a 9-month, September-through-May,
schedule. Consequently, you will see a change in the amount deducted from each of those paychecks; and, you will receive one
paycheck from which no deductions have been taken. Please take note of this change, as it will not be announced in future
open enrollment literature.
