BGSU is currently under a Campus Agreement (which covers all university-owned machines) and a Student Select program (for personal purchases) through June 30, 2010. Firelands College is included in these agreements.

The use of the software licensed under the Campus Agreement is subject to the terms of the Campus and School Agreement, including but not limited to limitations on liability, disclaimer of warranties and exclusion of remedies.  The software can only be run during the licensed period.  If the Campus Agreement is terminated, or a subscription enrollment or extension is not submitted prior to the expiration of the licensed period, then all software run under the Campus Agreement must be deleted when the licensed period expires or is otherwise earlier terminated, whichever is first.

  • Office (Macintosh or Windows)
  • Visual Studio.NET Professional

Faculty/Staff Work At Home Rights exist under the Microsoft Campus Agreement. Faculty and staff at BGSU who use a copy of the products listed above under the Campus Agreement, have the right to run one copy of that product, to be used for school-related purposes only, on an owned or leased home PC. Faculty/staff can acquire the media for $10 each, plus tax, at the BGSU Bookstore. Faculty/staff will be required to sign an acceptance form at the time of purchase. Purchases are limited to one copy of each product. When a newer version is released by Microsoft, then the faculty/staff member can acquire the newer version. Microsoft restricts faculty/staff to one platform of Office (i.e., faculty/staff are not eligible to acquire one Macintosh version of Office and one Windows version of Office). Work At Home Rights continue as long as the faculty/staff member is employed at BGSU and only while a Campus Agreement is in effect.

Under the Student Select program, Faculty/staff have an option to purchase either Windows Operating System Upgrade and/or Office (Macintosh or Windows) at the BGSU Bookstore for $62.00 each, plus tax, for each product. The software will be owned at the time of purchase. Purchases are limited to one copy of each product. When a newer version is released by Microsoft, then the faculty/staff member can acquire the newer version. Microsoft restricts faculty/staff to one platform of Office (i.e. faculty/staff are not eligible to acquire one Macintosh version of Office and one Windows version of Office).

Students are allowed to purchase one copy of the products listed above at the BGSU Bookstore. The cost is $62.00, plus tax, for each product and purchases are limited to one copy of each product. The software will be owned at the time of purchase. When Microsoft releases a newer version, students can acquire the newer version. Microsoft restricts students to one platform of Office (i.e., students are not eligible to acquire one Macintosh version of Office and one Windows version of Office).

As of June 30, 2006, the Microsoft Campus Agreement – Student Option terminated.  This program was a subscription (rental) program which allowed students to acquire selected Microsoft software from the University Bookstore for either $29.99 during academic year 04-05 or $39.99 during academic year 05-06.  BGSU now has a Microsoft Student Select program in effect, whereby software purchased for $62.00 plus tax is owned by the student at the time of the purchase.

Under the prior program, as stated in the Microsoft Campus Agreement Subscription Student Users Acceptance Form which was signed by the student at the time the product was acquired, upon termination of the Campus Agreement – Student Option the student must remove the software from the personal computer if they haven’t graduated.  If the student hasn’t graduated and wishes to continue to use the Microsoft software they had under the subscription program, then they must purchase the software again for $62.00 plus tax each from the BGSU Bookstore.
