The purpose of the committee is to provide leadership and guidance with regard to BGSU's Internet2 participation. Education
and communication are important aspects of that leadership. As such, the committee will develop a plan to inform the facuty
of the opportunities available through Internet2 and to encourage participation.
Specific Goals of the Internet2 Steering Committee:
Facilitate communications regarding Internet2 to the University community.
Help identify Internet 2 related funding opportunities
The development of an Internet 2 web site (with the assistance of ITS)
Participate in extending partnerships between BGSU faculty and faculty at other Internet 2 organizations
Work with academic units to help identify potential research initiatives and possible collaborative efforts
Monitor and report on the progress of BGSU Internet 2 projects to the CIO.
Generate an annual report on the status of Internet 2 and present to the CIO.
Help promote BGSU Internet 2 research activities, both internal and external to the University.
Support promotional activities such as an Internet 2 day.
