Card Reader
The Kronos hardware used by student employees to swipe their ID as a method of "punching in". Also known as a "terminal" or
"TCT" (Time Collection Terminal).
Electronic Time Reporting
The long name of the project to automate recording and reporting student employee payroll using a system of software and hardware
purchased from a company called Kronos.
eTime
The short name for BGSU's Electronic Time Reporting project that will use software and hardware purchased from Kronos to capture
and report student employee hours worked.
ETA
BGSU's acronym for "eTime Approver".
eTime Approver
BGSU name for an employee who is has the authority to approve student time sheets. In many, but not all cases, this will be
a manager or supervisor of student employees. In the Kronos system, this BGSU employee will have a "Professional License"
in the Kronos system. Also known by the acronym "ETA".
ID Card
BGSU student identification used with the Kronos card readers as one method for recording student employee time. Student will
swipe their ID at the card reader to identify themselves to the system as a method of "clocking in" and "clocking out".
Kronos
Greek for "time", this is the company that BGSU has purchased the eTime software and hardware as a method for recording and
reporting student employee hours worked.
PC
Personal computers will also be used in some work areas as a method for student employees to "clock in/out" with the Kronos
system by logging in and creating a "Time Stamp." PC will also be the method of access for "eTime Approver's" to process and
approve recorded time for their student employees.
Professional License
Kronos terminology for the software access license assigned to a BGSU employee who has authority and is responsible for reviewing
and approving student employee time sheets.

Using the student ID card and a Kronos "Card Reader", this is one method for student employees of clocking in and out to record
their time.

The name in the Kronos system for a student employee recording their work time utilizing a PC and a unique, password protected
