Viewing/Editing Time
Time will be viewed according to the 12-hour (AM and PM) clock. When viewing total hours it will be according to hours and minutes. When editing hours, it will also be in hours and minutes.
Pay Period
There will be one type of pay period, it will be bi-weekly (2 weeks) beginning on a Sunday @ 12 AM, we do have employees who work across midnight and the hours for those employees will be split across midnight.
Calculating Employee Time
Employees will be paid on a minute-to-minute basis with exception reporting for designated employees that clock in or out early or late as compared with their schedule.
This does not apply if an employee does not have a schedule in the system. No time will be "docked".
We will not use "Guaranteed Shift Times".

There will be two employee "groups". The group will be assigned by the supervisor as needed based upon whether scheduling
is in use or not for that particular department:
"Unscheduled" employees will have no unscheduled punch exception, a long interval shift of 10 hours and no other exceptions.
"Scheduled" employees will have an unscheduled punch exception, a long interval shift of 10 hours, and no short shift exception. In addition, there
will be a very early and very late punch exception of 30 minutes and 10 minutes for the in punch and out punch early/late
exceptions.
Meal & Break Rules
There will be no meal break rules as employees will be expected to punch out for a meal break (guideline = shift more than
5.5 hours) and back in when the meal break is complete.
There will be no (paid) break rules as the employees will not be expected to punch out for a paid break (guideline = shift of 4 or more hours). (For departments who had employees punch
out for a paid break on the back or opposite side of a time card in the past, employees on break will need to monitored manually.)
There will be no long or short meal or break exceptions.
Automatic Deductions & Bonuses
Not applicable.
Schedule Deviation
Not applicable.
Overtime Rules
Overtime will be paid on a weekly basis after 40 hours and will be reset at the start of a new week on Sunday (at 12 AM).
Daily OT and consecutive Day OT are not applicable and there are no "overtime days".
Holiday Rules
Not applicable.
Shift Premiums
This is not applicable in terms of how the Kronos system will be used with the current BGSU system of job codes. Shift premiums will be handled
by a transfer (in Kronos) between our unique "Job Codes" for any given employee. Each "shift premium" rule is developed on
a department-by-department basis, in other words the rule is not standard and there is no intent to make it so at this time.
Call-In Pay
Not applicable.
Lead/Supervisor Pay
This will be handled in Kronos by a transfer between BGSU "Job Codes", similar to shift premium above.
Pre-Population of Time Cards from Schedule
Not applicable. Situations such as off-site employees will be handled as a manual adjustment by the supervisor who will directly
enter the hours worked to the employee.s time card.
Accruals
Not applicable. Back to Project Home Page |
