| Telephone Billing |
|
A telephone billing system from Pinnacle has been implemented. The December 2003 telephone bills for departments and those
using personal/student BG Call Cards have been generated using this system and are available for review via the web. [ read more ]

| Web Development |
|
A new design for BGSU's Web site was unveiled on September 23, 2003. The University Home page and pages for the Office of the
President, Executive Vice President, Office of the CIO, Faculty Senate, University Calendar, Events, News and News Archives,
University Landing Page and Learning Communities are pages that feature the new design.
In conjunction with the new design, the University introduced the Rhythmyx content management system to more effectively manage
content and provide a consistent look and feel for BGSU's Web site. For general information about the new Web site design,

| BGNet Email and SPAM Filtering |
|
For many email users, the number of SPAM messages received are a source of inconvenience, frustration and a means of lowering
productivity levels. Beginning January 19, 2005 some SPAM email messages received at BGNet email accounts will be handled

| Enterprise Portal - Campus EAI |
|
The CIO's office has been awarded a $1,087,450 five-year grant from CampusEAI for portal software and services to implement

| Campus One Card |
|
A Campus One Card system will be implemented in order to provide members of the BGSU community with a means to use a universal
account to complete on-campus and off-campus transactions and activities. The Blackboard Transaction System is the software

| TECS |
|
The Technology Education Consulting Specialists (TECS) program provides classroom technology support for BGSU faculty. BGSU
faculty are teamed with TECS students who assist in the development and implementation of technology in the classroom and

| Internet2 |
|
Internet2 is a consortium being led by over 200 U.S. universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop
and deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. The Internet2
Steering Committee will provide leadership and guidance with regard to BGSU's Internet2 participation. Education and communication
are seen as important aspects of that leadership. [ read more ]

| Wireless Network Strategic Plan |
|
Information Technology Services began supporting wireless network access shortly after the Network Infrastructure Project was
completed in 2001. The Wireless Network Strategic Plan includes a time table for the expansion of the wireless network coverage,
recommended standards, and ideas for marketing the increased use of the wireless network. The final goal of the plan is to
have broad wireless network coverage across campus and on the Firelands campus. [ read more ]
