Applications Developers
In the past few weeks we have added six new employees to our team in the role of Applications Developers; Kristen Williams,
Chavi Mohan, Yajing Hu, Bob Kupetz, Scott Bailey, and Raj Nagendram. We are excited about the contribution and experience
that these people bring to our team. They will primarily be responsible for analyzing, coding and testing all of the conversion,
interface and reports programs.
Conversion Milestone Reached
The long and tedious data mapping sessions are winding down. This critical effort is the backbone to conversion. With these
decisions, the analysis and design of conversion programs begins, followed by coding and testing. During the last week of
October, the first legacy data related to benefits was converted from the legacy system to the PeopleSoft test system. Congratulations
to the conversion team for this initial success.
Oracle and PeopleSoft
For the past 16 months PeopleSoft has been fighting a hostile takeover attempt by Oracle. Naturally this has received much
press. Should this takeover be successful, there is no way for us to ascertain the impact, if any, on BGSU at this time.
We received a letter from PeopleSoft's president on September 9, 2004 which summarizes the outstanding significant issues.
Of these issues, it is important to note that PeopleSoft's lawsuit again Oracle is scheduled to go to trial on November 1,
2004. PeopleSoft believes that they can prove that Oracle intentionally engaged in unfair business practices. The letter
dated September 9 may be viewed by clicking here.
PeopleSoft Management Changes
