BG@100 CSS Training - Program Plan Maintenance Track

 

The following checklist has been prepared to outline for users the steps to complete in order to obtain access to Program/Plan Maintenance in CSS.  

 

Student Records Training Track:  Program/Plan Maintenance Level

 

Staff members completing this training track will be able to do the following:

  • Maintain program plan information in CSS which includes college, major, minor, and specialization information.  This is information that would previously have been maintained on the SIS STU1 screen
  • Maintain term activation which prepares a student for enrollment
  • Maintain student advisor information

A user may request enrollment in a course by sending an email message to BGat100@bgsu.edu. The information to include in the email message is the name of the person to be enrolled, their BGSU username, and a listing of the requested courses for enrollment. Once the enrollment request has been processed, the user will receive an email message confirming that the classes are now available to them in MyBGSU.

 

1.  Required Prerequisite Courses

  • CSS 110 - Introducing Campus Solutions *
  • CSS 120 - Understanding Academic Structure *
  • CSS 130 - Campus Solutions Learning the Basics *
  • CSS 140 - Understanding Campus Community *

 

2.  Required Function Specific Courses

  • Program Plan / Term Activation Maintenance Training
    • contact Registration and Records for the next available session
  • SR 325 - Add Advisor to a Student Record *

3.  Student Records Security Access Request Form

  • Once the entire training track has been completed, users must complete and submit the Student Records Security Access Request form as found on http://www.bgsu.edu/offices/cio/page54729.html.  Complete the form as outlined below.  This form must then be signed by the requestor along with appropriate supervisory signatures.  Submit the form as outlined on the CSS Security Form web page.  The form will then be moved through the approval process prior to access being granted.
    • The role that should be requested is BG_SR_RGST_PP - write this on a blank line on the left under Student Records
    • On the second page of the security form, fill in the following
      • Academic Institution = BGSUN
      • Institution/Career = All
      • Academic Program = All
      • Academic Plan = All
      • Program Action Values = ACTV, PLNC, DISC, RADM, DATA
