BG@100 CSS September Go-Live

BG@100 CSS Campus Community and Undergraduate Admissions Go-Live

A BG@100 Campus Solutions (CSS) Go-Live event is scheduled for the weekend of September 18 - 22, 2008.  The BG@100 project will be implementing Campus Community and Undergraduate Admissions in PeopleSoft CSS.  With this implementation several new applications and features will be available.

  • As of Monday, September 22, CSS Campus Community will be used to create, maintain, and track biographic and demographic (bio/demo) data for individuals and organizations that comprise BGSU's community.
  • Campus Community will integrate the information pertaining to individuals and organizations within the Human Resources (HCM) and Student Administration systems into a common database within Campus Solutions (CSS).
  • Campus Solutions (CSS) will become the 'system of record' for bio/demo data as of September 22.  Biographic and demographic data from CSS Campus Community will be used to update SIS on a daily basis (note:  this will mean that the bio / demo data in SIS may be up to 24 hours old).
  • AMS SIS Screens (PRSN, PRS1, RS2, ADDT, AKAN, DEMO, IDEN, NAME, NAMT, PDQA, PIDD, PDN, and ZADE) will continue to be available as view only.
  • In CSS, the BGSU ID# will no longer start with a P.  The P will be replaced with a 0 (zero).  This number will stay with an individual regardless of their relationship to BGSU (applicant, student, BGSU employee, etc.)
  • Undergraduate Admissions will process applicants for Summer 2009 and beyond in CSS.  Applicant data for Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 will continue to be available in SIS.
  • As of September 22 a new Employee Self Service application will be available via MyBGSU.  Employees will have access to an Update Personal Information link under MyServices in MyBGSU.  This self service application will allow employees to directly update their address and phone number information in CSS.  This feature will be available 24 x 7.  BG@100 CSS Sneak Peek #1 provides a sample view of this application.

Changes in System Availability during BG@100 Go-Live

  •  In order to complete the BG@100 Campus Solutions (CSS) implementation scheduled for September 18 - 22, some changes in system availability will be required.  The changes in application availability during the upgrade period are listed below.  This detail is provided as information for help in planning tasks appropriately based on application availability.
  • Access to SIS will continue on the normal schedule.
  • After 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 19 biographic and demographic (bio/demo) data in SIS will be changed to 'Read Only' access for SIS users.  Campus Solutions (CSS) will now be the system of record for bio/demo data.  Biographic and demographic information from CSS Campus Community will be used to update SIS on a daily basis.
  • Processing in FMS will continue to be available - the go-live activities will not impact FMS transactions.
  • PeopleSoft (CSS) will be available during the go-live period.  However, users are discouraged from making any updates to CSS data from 7 a.m. Friday, September 19 until 7 a.m. on Monday, September 22.  Completing any updates to CSS data during this time period may result in loss of the data.  The BG@100 project team does reserve the right to make the system unavailable if necessary during the go-live period.
  • The eHire application will be accessible as 'Read Only' from Thursday, September 18 at 9:00 p.m. until Monday, September 22 at 7:00 a.m.
  • The Change Address application available through MyBGSU will be unavailable after Thursday, September 18 at 9:00 p.m.
