Training for CSS View Level Access

Users requiring View Access for CSS will need to complete the following steps prior to being approved for the associated CSS Security Access.

Attend CSS Advisory Sessions

CSS Advisory Sessions present overview information and provide the basis for understanding CSS and it's components.  It is recommended that all who will be using CSS review each session topic.  The PowerPoint presentation used for each topic are available for reference on the CSS Advisory Session web page.  Session topics include:  Introducing Campus Solutions (CSS), Understanding Academic Structure, Campus Solutions - Learning the Basics, Course / Class, Understanding Campus Community, and Understanding Admissions.

Complete on-line prerequisite training courses

Courses will be offered to CSS users by on-line training available through MyBGSU.  Offering courses in this manner will allow users to proceed through the material at their own pace and users are invited to return to the course material as often as desired to review information and details. Completion of the prerequisite on-line training courses and completion of the associated quiz with a score of 80% or higher is required prior to submission of the BG@100 CSS Security Form.

The CSS Prerequisite On-Line Training Courses are:

      • CSS 110: Introducing Campus Solutions
      • CSS 120: Understanding Academic Structure
      • CSS 130: Campus Solutions: Learning the Basics
      • CSS 140: Understanding Campus Community

For further details on accessing courses, please see the CSS on-line training course access instructions.

For any user who need to access one of the above training courses and does not have access via MyBGSU, please email BGat100@bgsu.edu to request access.

  Complete function specific training

Additional training may be required in order to know how to access and view information for a specific function.  The titles of function specific on-line training courses for users who will need View Access is provided below.  Further details are available at the  CSS On-Line Training Courses web page.

Obtain and complete the CSS Security Form and submit for appropriate signatures.

Submission of completed Security Access request forms are required prior to a user receiving access to CSS. All appropriately completed forms will continue through the CSS review process for verification of training attendance and for appropriate approvals/signatures. Once all approvals/signatures have been received, the applicant will receive appropriate access to CSS. Applicants will receive an e-mail to notify them when this process has been completed and they may begin using CSS.

Please Note: This process may take some time to complete (review of forms and obtaining appropriate signatures for approval) so all users are asked to leave an appropriate amount of lead time prior to needing CSS access.

The CSS Security Request Forms in pdf version along with instructions for completion and submission are included at the following link.

Attend a Town Hall Session

In the days immediately preceding each CSS Go-Live, a Town Hall event will be held.  Each Town Hall will focus on the module that will be migrating to PeopleSoft  and provide attendees with a summarized review of the features and impact of the scheduled Go-Live.

For the Town Hall schedule, please see the CSS Town Hall web page.
