PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (Student Administration) Update
The BG@100 Campus Solutions project team has begun the modeling phase of the Campus Solutions System Implementation project.
In modeling, the team evaluates the various coding options for the configuration/setup of the Campus Solutions System along
with testing the BGSU business processes in the Oracle/PeopleSoft applications. This phase began with the modeling of the
Academic Structure and the Foundation Table portions of the Student Administration modules. During these modeling sessions,
the team made preliminary decisions regarding the coding of many Oracle/PeopleSoft foundation tables. During the week of
December 17th, subject matter experts from the primary offices were included in the modeling sessions where the preliminary
decisions were discussed. As modeling continues for each of the modules, the many coding decisions and the decisions regarding
business process re-engineering will be made. The team is expected to complete modeling for the major business processes
by March.
The Executive Steering Committee (ESC) was presented with the Campus Solutions Preliminary Scope Document at the December
meeting. The Preliminary Scope document will continue as an ESC discussion item in January with the plan to submit a final
Scope Document to ESC in March. The preliminary Scope Document contains scope related information for each module area and
focuses on conversions, interfaces, reports, testing, and training. Although more information must be gathered for the final
Scope, the preliminary Scope Document provides a summary of what was learned through Fit Gap and an indication of the work
that needs to be done over the next three months.
The BG@100 project team will continue working on implementation planning tasks. The implementation timeline is being finalized
and an implementation project plan is being assembled. As important decisions are made by the project team and reviewed by
the Executive Steering Committee, the plans will be communicated to the campus community.
