The BG@100 Project Team has worked to configure FMS to be the system of record for BGSU financials. FMS will replace AFIN
on February 5, 2007. The new system required completion of online processes to order, receive, and approve payment for goods
and services and incorporates the use of electronic workflow and document imaging. Completion of all processes electronically
will provide for a system of record with data that can be accurately used for reporting, projection and planning.
The FMS implementation will impact the means by which financials are transacted and recorded at BGSU and will therefore mean
new ways of doing old jobs. Changes of this magnitude are not easy and may be greeted with concern. It is believed that
concerns will ease as those who will be using the FMS system attend FMS training sessions and then have the opportunity to
use system features. To learn more about the changes that accompany the FMS implementation, visit Focus on FMS Features.

Testing
The BG@100 Project Team has completed the integrated system test for FMS. In this test, the team verified hat the BGSU business
processes all work together with data converted for AFIN. In November, the team will perform a user acceptance test with
staff from the Business Office, SPAR Office, and Purchasing Office. At the end of his test, the offices performing the testing
will be asked to acknowledge that the system is production ready. In December, the team will perform a parallel test. In
this test, 14 different departments will simulate the AFIN business that they processed during August 2006 in the FMS system.
At the end of this test, the FMS data will be compared to data captured from AFIN at the end of August 2006. In addition
to these tests, the team will also be performing system load testing so that performance thresholds can be established.
