PeopleSoft Financial Management Solutions (FMS) Update

The go-live date for the PeopleSoft FMS application is five months away and the BG@100 project team is preparing to present the new system to the University. Although some introductory training has been done, the team is working on the more in-depth training which will be conducted starting in November. The team is also working on preparing for the comprehensive testing of the FMS system and the user acceptance testing. As the schedules are finalized for training and testing, they will be posted to the web site.

Process Modeling

The BG@100 project team would like to thank all the individuals that have been assisting with process modeling. The following individuals have been a great help and we appreciate the time that they have given to the project.

Gary Andres, Lu Bowley, Kris Curlis, Robin Euler, Mel Hudson-Nowak, Jennifer Milligan, Cindy Price, Jay Samelak, Jim Stainbrook, Faye Nichelson, Bill Wheelock, Beth Nagel, Dale Schroeder, Judith Amend, Dianne Bloom, Anita Brooks, Melody Drewes, Linda Hamilton, Stacey Williams, Linda Kidd, Mike Rockovich, Jan Peterson, Teresa McLove, Mariann Reiter, Valerie Whipple, Faith Olson, Chuck Wiersma, Linda Grimm, Lisa Meyer, Amani Snyder, Cathy VanScoyoc, Cheryl Tyson, and Susan Swinford.

Data Conversion

The BG@100 project team continues to make great progress on vendor data cleanup and general ledger history conversion. The team is also working on asset management conversion and grants management conversion. The team expects to have much of the conversion work completed over the next two months. This will allow the team to focus on testing and training from October through the end of the year.

Automated Workflow

The BG@100 project team continues to develop automated workflows for the new system. The workflow is essential for the elimination of paper based approval processes. It is the project team's desire to eliminate as much of the paper based approval processes in the current AFIN system as possible. The automated workflow will establish processes where sending approvals will be captured electronically in the FMS system. When an approver logs into the FMS system and approves a requisition or voucher it is logged and tracked.
