Update - May 2006
PeopleSoft Financial Management Solutions (FMS) Update
Grants Management
The BG@100 project team began to focus on the Grants Management module in April. The team will be involved with Grants Management
training, fit gap, and configuration over the next few months. Subject matter experts from a variety of offices will be invited
to assist in fit gap and information sharing sessions during the month of May.
Document Imaging and Workflow
The BG@100 project team is working with the Digital Services group within ITS to build document imaging and workflow into
the FMS implementation. The team is evaluating alternatives for utilizing document imaging in the Purchasing and/or Accounts
Payable modules. It is anticipated that document imaging will help to reduce paper files and increase efficiency.
Process Modeling
The BG@100 project team continues modeling the BGSU business processes through the FMS system. The current focus for modeling
is in the General Ledger, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable modules. Various financial processes that the University handles
on a daily basis are being executed in the FMS system as a means of validating the new business flows.
Data Conversion
A vendor information data mapping review session was held April 27, 2006. Subject matter experts from a variety of offices
were invited to attend this session and to participate in the discussions. The project team shared vendor data conversion
decisions and explained the conversion plan at the session.
Training
The BG@100 project team is in the process of building the FMS training plan. Once finalized, the training plan will be used
to coordinate the training courses with the various training audiences. The goal of the team is to ensure that all University
employees that need FMS training be invited to the appropriate training sessions.
BG@100 Project Office Update
The BG@100 project office will be saying farewell to Liliana Goldman on May 26, 2006. The team appreciates her support over
the past seven months and wishes her well in her future endeavours.
