Q:
What does HCM stand for?
|
| A: HCM is PeopleSoft’s terminology for Human Capital Management. For our implementation, this refers to Human Resources,
Benefit Administration and Payroll.

Q:
When will the HCM implementation take place?
|
| A: The conversion to PeopleSoft will take place during the weekend prior to June 27, 2005 with HCM “Go Live” taking place
on June 27.
|

Q:
How will the HCM implementation impact me?
|
| A: A letter outlining how the HCM implementation will impact university employees was sent to the home address of faculty
and staff on May 23, 2005. The letter providing information by the employee’s primary affiliation:
faculty, administrative staff member, classified staff member. The entire letter is available for reference on the
BG@100 web site under the HCM Specific Link - What Does PeopleSoft Bring to Me? Link. Information regarding what the project will bring
to students will be distributed via Student Employment.

Q:
What areas of HCM will be part of this implementation?
|
| A: The scope and areas for the HCM Phase 1 implementation was set by the Executive Steering Committee and is outlined in
the BG@100 HCM Phase 1 Scope document available at:
http://www.bgsu.edu/offices/cio/page2856.html. After the initial implementation, plans for future implementation, including additional features of HCM, will be outlined
by the Executive Steering Committee.

Q:
Will AHRS data continue to be available after the conversion?
|
| A: The AHRS data will be available in read only format after the conversion. Data will continue to be available but AHRS
data will no longer be updated after “Go Live” on June 27.
|

Q:
Will there be any change in how time worked or time exception is reported?
|
| A: Hours worked and exception reporting will need to be completed in hours/decimal format for PeopleSoft. Those reporting
time on a bi-weekly basis will begin reporting time in this format on June 19. For those reporting time on a monthly basis,
this will begin with the reporting of time for June 2005. For reference, a conversion chart is available at the Human Resources

Q:
Will applications such as e-Hire and Kronos change with this implementation?
|
| A: e-Hire and Kronos will continue to be used but will have a different look in preparation for the conversion to PeopleSoft.
Information regarding this will be communicated by Student Employment.

Q:
What are self-service applications?
|
| A: A self-service application allows employees to obtain job-related information through a web portal or specialized kiosk.
For this implementation, employees will have access to “View Paycheck” and “View Compensation History” via My BGSU. Managers
will also have access to “Managers Information” through My BGSU.

Q:
What type of training is being offered?
|
| A: Training needs will vary by an employee’s use of the Human Resources, Benefits, and/or Payroll data. Training needs
will vary from access to the “View Paycheck” self-service application, to training in how to use Query in PeopleSoft, to “back
office” training in how to enter data. Training offered is outlined on the project web page at:
