Update - May 2005
All Employees (Faculty, Staff and Student)
The University will begin using the new PeopleSoft HCM system as its Payroll and Human Resource system on June 27, 2005. At
that time, changes to employee information and payroll processing will be administered in the new system. University employees
can view information related to how the implementation of this new system will affect them by clicking on the "What Does PeopleSoft Bring to Me?" link.
Beginning in July, any employee who has direct deposit for their paycheck will no longer receive a pay stub in campus mail.
There will be a new web self-service link published on "My BGSU" for employees to view and print their pay information. The
new "View Paycheck" web pages will be available to all employees (faculty, staff, and students). To access the new web pages,
employees will need their P#, BGSU username, and password. If you do not know your BGSU username and password, visit http://www.bgsu.edu/its/auth/page11459.html or contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) at 419-372-0999. If you do not have or do not routinely use a computer at your primary work location, you can view your pay
information at any public access computer across the BGSU campus.
Training for the "View Paycheck" self-service application will be available for all employees. In-person demonstrations will
be offered May 23, 24, 25 and July 6, 7, 18, 19, 21. These demo sessions are open to all employees and details are available at
the BG@100 HCM Training link. For people who have access to a computer, there is a web-based training module to demonstrate how to access pay information.
To view the web-based training module or to print the documentation, click on the "View My Paycheck" self-service link above.
HCM Testing Activities
In April, the BG@100 Project Team with assistance from the Payroll Office, Office of Human Resources, and ITS began parallel
testing of both the monthly and bi-weekly pay cycles. This parallel testing allows the team to run payroll in the new PeopleSoft
HCM system and then compare it with the payroll from the current AHRS system. The comparison will help validate the correctness
of the new payroll system and provide assurances that the information is setup correctly.
The Project Team will continue their testing activities until HCM goes live at the end of June. The next major testing effort
will focus on the interfaces between the HCM system and computer systems both on and off campus.
BG@100 HCM Training
The BG@100 Project Team has been working hard to develop the training schedules, training materials, training curriculum,
and general training related correspondence for the University community. Please visit the HCM training pages by clicking
on the above link called, BG@100 HCM Training. As new training information is available, it will be published under this link.
"What Does PeopleSoft Brings To Me?" Letter to be mailed
A letter is being developed for mailing to the home address of all University employees on May 23. The subject of this letter
is What Does PeopleSoft Brings to Me. The letter will provide information regarding what PeopleSoft brings to all University
employees and also information that is specific to each employee by their University affiliation; faculty, administrative
staff, classified staff. A preview of this letter is available at the What Does PeopleSoft Bring to Me link. Information regarding What PeopleSoft Brings to Students will be distributed via Student Employment Supervisors.
PeopleSoft Production Security
The Project Team continues to define the production security roles and users within those roles. As a result a new security
form and approval process is being created. Plans are to have the form and process ready for distribution during the Human
Resources and Payroll training sessions. All PeopleSoft HCM users will be required to complete a new security form even if
you were a previous AHRS user. We are starting clean with our security records. After June 27, 2005, any one requesting
access to PeopleSoft HCM will be required to follow the new procedure. More information regarding security will be published
prior to June 27, 2005.
BG@100 Team Resource Changes
The Project Team will bid farewell to Chavi Mohan and Jim Hunter in May. Chavi Mohan, an Applications Developer, has been
with the Project Team for the past six months. Jim Hunter, a Technical Support Consultant, has been with the Project Team
for the past three months. The Team appreciates the efforts of both individuals on the project and wishes them well in their
future endeavors.
