In 1988, the name of our department was changed from the Instructional Media Center (IMC), a name we had carried proudly for about 25 years, to Instructional Media Services (IMS). To many, the changing of just one word in our name meant little, but to us at IMS the change mattered a great deal.
Adding "services" to our name highlighted our mission to serve the needs of the students, faculty, and staff of Bowling Green State University. In this web page, you will find detailed the many ways that we fulfill our service commitment through the production of presentation materials and the scheduling, maintenance, and delivery of technology display equipment. While IMS employees perform a number of widely varying tasks for a diverse clientele, service to the students, faculty, and staff of Bowling Green State University lies at the heart of what we are all about. After all, it's part of our name.
