Services & Events
Every year, BGSU advertises and facilitates numerous Employer Information Sessions on or near campus, often in conjunction with the employer's on-campus recruiting visit or with participation in our job fairs. During these sessions, employers make presentations on topics that include the organization's career opportunities, culture, and products or services. Usually you will have an opportunity to speak with the representatives in small groups or individually before or after the presentation. Professional or "business casual" dress is appropriate, unless otherwise indicated in the publicity. Some employers will choose to hold their information session at the Student Union tables in front of the bookstore.
Who can attend?
The vast majority of Employer Information Sessions are open to all interested students of all majors and standings. The sessions are a great way for you to learn what it might be like to work for a specific employer or in a given industry or sector. These sessions offer a rare opportunity to talk with the representatives (sometimes BGSU alum) prior to your interview or meeting them at the fair. It also provides you to get answers to your particular questions, and perhaps, learn more about how to become a stronger candidate within your career interest. In some cases, these sessions are mandatory if you have a scheduled interview with the employer.
