BGSU Estimated Fees --In cases where students with on-campus housing have not yet registered for classes, estimated fees, which are billed at actual full-time, are added to their account. These fees are due on the indicated due date. Estimated fees will be credited and actual fees added at the time registration occurs.
Course Fees -- Assessed in some courses with special costs associated with instruction. Courses with fees are noted in course descriptions. The student is held responsible for lost or damaged apparatus and for material wasted in laboratory classes. The student pays for all materials used in making articles or items that become personal property.
Excess Credit Fee – For Main Campus students, $200 per credit hour for each hour over 18 hours. For Firelands Campus students, $150 per credit hour for each hour over 18 hours. This is on a semester by semester basis. No student is allowed to register for more than 18 hours without written permission from his or her college dean. This permission must be submitted to the Office of Registration and Records, 110 Administration Building.
Student Health Insurance Coverage – Domestic Students taking eight or more credit hours on the main campus will be required to have health insurance coverage. Under the “hard waiver” program, students will be required to have health insurance coverage that meets basic minimum requirements set by the University, providing that information to the University by completing a waiver. If they do not have basic minimum coverage, they must purchase the University’s sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan through Aetna Student Health. For more information regarding student insurance, please visit: http://www.bgsu.edu/offices/sa/studentinsurance.
The charge for the University student health coverage will automatically be assessed for the entire year unless the student provides proof of insurance to the following areas:
International Students--graduate and undergraduate
Student Insurance Manager
Graduate and Undergraduate Students--eight or more credit hours (main campus)
116 Health Center
